The delightful Hungarian city of Pécs, close to the border with Croatia, was a European Capital of Culture in 2010.
It boasts a rich artistic heritage which includes the stunning Zsolnay porcelain tradition. The city was also the birthplace of op-art pioneer Victor Vasarely who has a gallery dedicated to his work.
The Pécs University building seen here is one of several interesting examples of the city’s newer architecture.
